Step 1: Uploading Images

Uploading an image

1. Open the image library

2: Select an existing folder that you want to create the image in OR create a new folder by pressing the 'Add New' icon.  If you create a new folder be sure to select it once it is created.

Try and keep your image categories (folders) named and structured so that you can find them later.  You might have categories for 'Gallery Images' and 'Product Images' each with their own subfolders just to keep things organised and easy to find.

3: Click on 'Add Image' to add a new item in the middle section.  Then select the item we just created, it will be called 'A New Item'.

4: Enter a name for this image where it has "A New Item".  This name is for your reference only, however it will also be used if you create an auto image gallery.

5: Click on 'Browse' to select an image on your PC to upload.  This will open a window showing the files on your computer.  Find an image that you want to upload, and either double click on it, or click on it and press the 'Open' button on the bottom right.

6: Press save  to make your changes and upload the image from your computer to the server, this could take a few minutes if you are uploading a large image - depending on your internet connection speed.   You will know when the image is uploaded and saved by the 'image saved successfully' message.   If there were any problems they will show here instead.

Done!

You have now uploaded a new image which can be used throughout your website. One thing you will notice below the uploaded image sample is a list of other sizes that were uploaded.

Each time you upload an image, the library automatically creates 5 different sizes which can be used throughout your site.  This makes it very useful as sometimes you want to use different sizes of the same image on different pages.

Step 1 is now complete, you can repeat this process to upload more images.  For more details on uploading images and uploading images using custom settings and watermarks, please see the images section.
