Select a Template for your page

Each page you create needs to have a template selected.  The template controls what the page will look like on your website, and in most cases all of your pages will be using the same template.

Before starting these steps, make sure you have the
'Pages and Content' section selected in the Base Module.

Step 1: Select the category that contains the page you want make changes too, and select the page from the items.

When you select the page, you will see the page settings for the selected page in the right area.

You will see a setting called 'Page Template', if the page has a template already you will see the name of the template under it, otherwise there will be no name.

In the image above, you can see that the template for this page is 'My First Template'.

Step 2:  Press the Selecte Template   button.   This will open up a list of the available templates for your website.

You will notice that in the list 'My First Template' is selected, since it is the template that was assigned in the page settings.

Step 3:  Select the Template that you want to use for this page from the list.

Step 4:  Press the 'Accept' button.

Step 5. Save the page by pressing the save  button.

Step 6.  Preview the live page with the page preview button.  The website page will open in a new window showing us the current page.

The page will now be using the template that you selected.

It is important to note that you won't have to do this for every page you create.  In the Template Design section you can select which template is your default template, and this will be used for any new page you create.

There are also handy tools in the Template Design section to swap templates around, so if you are changing your entire site, you don't need to do this one by one.
