Modules and Sections
What is a Module?
A module is a major part of the Website Builder which contains various sections. The purpose of modules is to split up the system so that you only pay for modules that you will use. This also allows us to expand the system and add modules as we continue to devlop the software.
Some modules require other modules before they can be used. For example the Newsletter Module requires the Membership Module so that you have a list to send the newsletters too.
Other modules interact with each other, but don't require eachother. For example the Membership Module does not require the Product Module, however if you have them both you can apply Product Discount polcies for your members.
The Base Module is required in all cases, and includes the Administration Module.
Available Modules
Currently the available & planned modules include:
- Base Module + Admistration Module
- Product Module
- Membership Module
- Newsletter Module (coming soon)
- E-Commerce Module (coming soon)
- Subscription Module (future development)
- Feedback Module (future development)
- MYOB Integration Module
What is a Section?
Sections are all of the parts that make up a module, for example the Base Module consists of the Image Library, File Library and other sections. The Product Module consists of the Product Editor and Product Classes sections etc.
Splitting things up into these sections allows you to control who can access the different sections via the Administration Module, and also means you can quickly switch between sections without having to load each section more than once. For example you could be editing a page in the rich text editor and realise you need a new image, so you can jump over to the Image Library section, add and upload your image, then jump page to Pages and Content where your rich text editor will be exactly where you left it!
