Version 1.03.02 of Spinsoft Website Builder introduces a completely new rich text editor, new template design and layout system and a stack of other features to give you more control of your site.

  

What's new in 1.03.02


Important Changes:  With the substantial changes and improvements introduced into this update, one thing that should be noted is that 'sidebars' have been changed to 'columns'.  They function in the same way but you can now have pages with up to 5 columns, each having a custom set of panels.


Base Module:

  • Completely new Rich Text Editor with a host of new features
    • Many more formatting options including subscript, superscript, foreground/background colors.
    • More styles to choose from including 3 paragraph styles and 6 headings, all customizable in your template
    • Tables are now in, including 3 template driven table styles to control how they look.
    • Insert common symbols and characters
    • Three pasting methods now available; normal, unformatted text and paste from word.
    • You can now paste data from word and other websites, using our html clean function it will clean out all of the junk and use your own styles.
    • Improved linking system with dynamic page links, anchors and more.
    • You can now add tool tips for links, images and files. These are important for search engines and for disabled users who use text based browsers.
    • Strike through options to edit your text, any text striked out wont show on your website but you can keep it incase you decide to put it in later.
    • Undo/redo function with many history levels
    • Text alignment options, left, right, centered or justified.
    • Bound keys to buttons (ctrl-x = cut, ctrl-z = undo, ctrl-y = redo, ctrl-v = paste, ctrl-s = save)
    • You can double click images to open up the insert image dialog, allowing you to change the image.
    • When inserting an image you are now given the size of the normal image for the selected item.
    • Brand new colorswatch with over 10,000 colours.
  • All new Template Design System
    • Control your template layout with the new Template Layout system. 
    • Create pages with up to 5 columns, header, footer, and menu's.
    • Much more style control for all elements including border-styles, line-height and more.
    • Many more elements which you can customize including tables, more paragraphs, image thumbnails, product styles, column styles and more.

    • Brand new colorswatch with over 10,000 colours and a transparent color option.
  • New Template tools allow you to set the default template, duplicate the current template and swap templates.
  • Template Extensions introduced into the new template system.  Extensions allow you to use all of the settings from the parent template, while only changing a few things.  This gives you incredible flexibility and makes things easy when you want slightly different templates for different pages.  You can create unlimited extensions, and even create extensions of the extensions!
  • A new Infobar at the bottom of your window which shows useful info tips.  Keep an eye out for notices, tips, errors, warnings and success messages.
  • Many sections have been upgraded to new technology which makes server communication more efficient, and increases interface performance making the whole experience more enjoyable!
  • Template headers now link back to the main site.
  • Added a handy 'preview live page' button to page design.  This will open the current page you are working on in a new browser window so you can view your live changes.

Product Module

  • Updated auto product page templates to reflect the new styles.
  • The style of your auto product pages can now be changed in the template design section.

Front End Changes

  • Changed the way pages are stored to make all future updates more flexible and to pave the way for the membership module.
  • The new layout system introduces entirely new CSS to style your site.  We have tested the following browsers with great results:
    • Internet Explorer 5.0, 5.5, 6.0
    • Firefox 1.5.0.3
    • Opera 8.54

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed some formatting issues in other browsers.   
  • Fixed a minor bug where selecting no image for a template item produced incorrect css.
  • When in detailed product view, the selected menu will now stay open
  • Fixed a problem when designing multiple sites, causing a conflict with some menu items.
  • The rich text editor backspace has been fixed once and for all!
