What is the Rich Text Editor?

The Rich Text Editor is a tool that is available in different parts of the website builder.  It allows you to edit content in a WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) enviroment.  People who have used and are familiar with programs like MS Word will have no trouble using the Rich Text Editor as it follows a very common format. 


What is Content?

Content is the information that you put into an item.  It consists of headings and paragraphs of text, images, links, files to download, tables and anything you want people to see when they visit the page.  The content is edited in the Rich Text Editor, also known as a WYSIWYG (What you see is what you get) editor. 



What type of Content do we use in the Rich Text Editor?

The following types of content are used in the Rich Text Editor:

  • Text  (Paragraphs and Headings)
  • Images (Photos, artwork etc)
  • Files (Downloads that people can get on your website)
  • Tables
  • Links

Where can the Rich Text Editor be used?

The rich text editor can be used in many areas of the website builder for many items:

Editing your page content in the Pages and Content section
Editing the content of panels in the Panel Library section
Editing the content of your page footer in the Template Design section
Editing the detailed information of products in the Product Editor section


How do I open the Rich Text Editor?

You can open the rich text editor anywhere that has the rich text editor button:


Pressing this button will open the rich text editor for the current item you have selected wether it is a product, panel, footer or page.
