Pages and Content
What are Pages?
Pages make up the actual website that people visit. Each page you make is the physical page that people will load in their browser. Common pages on a website might include: Home Page, About Us Page, Contact Us Page, Links Page and others.
What is Content?
Content is the information that you put into a page. It consists of headings and paragraphs of text, images, links, files to download, tables and anything you want people to see when they visit the page. The content for each page is edited in a Rich Text Editor, also known as a WYSIWYG (What you see is what you get) editor. If you have used programs like microsoft word, our Rich Text Editor will be very familiar to you.
Where do I create and edit Pages?
Pages are created in the 'Pages and Content' section. This is part of the Base Module and be found in the 'Main' Menu Section (or 'Base Module' Menu in version 1.03.03 and onwards.)

What is the Pages and Content Section?
The Pages and Content section is where you create and manage your pages and edit the content. Here you will see it divided into three areas. Categories, Page Items and Settings

What are Page Categories?
Categories are a way for you to organise your pages so that you can easily find them. You can create as many categories and sub categories as you like. In general we recommend that you store general pages like home, about us and contact us, in a category called 'Site Pages'. Then for product catalog pages you would have a 'Product Pages' category, with subcategories depending on your products. If you have many image gallery pages, you might also like to create a 'Image Pages' category.
As long as you use a structure so that you can easily find your pages, then that is the main purpose.
The other thing to keep in mind when structuring your categories, is that the membership module will have the ability to control page access by selecting page categories. So you might have a category for special pages that can only be access by members with a special login.
What are Page Items?
Page items are the physical page that people visit on your website, and they also contain information and settings for the page.
You must have one page item for each page on your website.
What is the Settings Area used for?
The settings on the right area is used for 2 things.
The first thing is for editing the settings of a Category. When you click on a category, the right area will show you the name of the category which you can change and any other settings for the category.
The second thing is for editing the settings of a Page Item. When you click on a page from the middle item list, you will see the settings in the right area. Here you can name the page, edit the content, choose the template, choose the page type, enter title and keywords for search engine optimisation, and various other things.
How do people get to my Pages?
There are a few ways people can view your pages.
The first way is by typing the URL of website with the name of the page on the end. For example www.mysite.com/mypage.php This will open the page in the browser.
The second way is to add your page to your website menu using the Menu Builder. This will add a button to your navigation menu that people can click on to get to the page.
The last way is to create a link to the page, the link can go in the content of your website or even someone elses website. When clicked it will open up the page in the browser.
